Community-Based Land Use Planning
Land use planning is a cornerstone of the Whitefeather Forest Initiative.
Our Community-Based Land Use Planning process for the Whitefeather Forest Planning Area is designed to keep Pikangikum First Nation in the "driver's seat" while at the same time addressing the various scales of interest. The Community-Based Land Use Planning concept and overall approach that is serving as the provincial context supporting specific First Nation initiatives was developed through a collaborative process among Pikangikum, other First Nations, the Ministry of Natural Resources, agencies and interested parties.
All of our planning is centered on our community and works outwards in circles of dialogue and cooperation.
